The Ottavio Badessa Museum is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Ottavio Badessa (1898–1972), the local physician of Villafranca Tirrena.
For over thirty years, Dr. Badessa cared for his community, reaching patients in his horse-drawn carriage—now the symbol of the museum.
The collection on display was created thanks to his son, Dr. Paolo Badessa, who over forty years of work collected rare and perfectly functioning medical instruments from various countries.
The entire collection was donated to the city of Villafranca Tirrena to be shared with citizens, schools, and visitors of all ages.
